California Dreamin’ by The Mamas & The Papas except it’s playing from a box radio while you sit on the porch of a Yosemite Ranger Station in the very early morning. It’s summer. It’s 1979. And you love your job.

I think some of my favorite posts on Tumblr are edits of songs like this, that emcompass a very distinct feeling. Maybe you’ve never been to the place it’s from, or were alive in the time it’s from, but the feeling is real, drawn out from what feels like the depth of your soul, and if you close your eyes, you can almost feel the wood of the chair against your back and smell the bug repellent you put on hours before that’s mostly faded but not quite.
